In these difficult times due to the pandemic, where uncertainty has been present in all economic sectors both in Chile and in the world, we want Trans-Port Santiago 2021 to be a space for the Latin American maritime port sector to return to meet. Our new May issue of our Trans-Port 2021 Newsletter, we share the opinions of two of our sponsoring companies. On the one hand, representing the Port Authority of Valparaíso (EPV), its general manager, Mr. Franco Gandolfo, comments that the event “will be the space with the best institutional and business collaboration networks of the maritime-port industry at the regional level”, that poses us as an organizing team to be up to this great challenge of “re-connecting” customers, suppliers and academia around the challenges for the maritime, port and logistics industry in Latin America. Cool Carriers, as a maritime transport operator, will share with the audience the value and importance of the reefer ship as a logistics solution for exporting clients of agricultural products seeking markets in the northern hemisphere, effectively and efficiently. The VII International Congress and Exhibition of the Maritime-Port Industry for Latin America, Trans-Port 2021, wants to become the meeting point for businessmen, suppliers and national and Latin American authorities, where they can exchange knowledge, experiences, technologies that allow to accelerate development sustainable development of the maritime-port industry in our region. The structure of the meeting has been conceptualized around the challenges of Digitization and Sustainability, which will be addressed in four thematic blocks, each with panels of experts who will share their experiences around: (1) Regulation and Public Policies; (2) Sustainability; (3) Digitization and Automation; and (4) Challenges in logistics and trade markets for Latin America. For the development of Trans-Port and its congress, to date we have the support of important companies, institutions and state agencies. These include the ministries of Transport and Telecommunications, Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation, Energy, the Public Enterprise System (SEP) and the National Customs Service. Also, as invited institutions we are accompanied by the Chilean Navy, represented by Directemar and the National Port Authority of Peru. It is important to mention the international collaboration through the IDB Group, Port of Barcelona, IAPH, Port of Montreal, FEPORT, AIVP, among others. Another fundamental pillar of the event are the sponsoring companies, such as Port of San Antonio (main sponsor), Port of Valparaiso, Ultramar, Cool Carriers, Port of Ventanas, Webb Fontaine, ABB, Ports of Talcahuano, Empresas Taylor, Hubner, among others. Trans-Port 2021 expects to gather 15 participating countries, 50 exhibiting companies, 1,500 visitors in the three days, 2,600 m2 of exhibition space. Our exhibiting and attending companies are made up of port authorities, Terminals, Technology Providers, Shipping Companies, Institutions and public and private Associations. In addition, we will carry out activities such as Technical Conferences, Business Meetings, Technical Visits to Ports and a Social Event. We want to invite you to be part of this event, as a sponsor or assistant, to visit our website www.trans-port.cl to learn about news and activities.
